Day wise Itinerary

Proceed to Dwarka, on arrival transfer and check in the hotel. Later proceed for local sightseeing of the city. Visit the famous Dwarkadish temple, which seems to arise from the waters of Arabian Sea. It is believed to be one of the most beautiful temples in the whole three worlds. Built by the great grandson of Lord Krishna, the temple boasts elegantly engraved shikhar, reaching 43 metres high and the giant flag made from 52 yards of cloth, which is visible from as far as 10 km. The magnificence of the temple is more enhanced by the flight of 56 steps that leads to the back side of the structure on the side of the river Gomti. Take a holy dip in River Gomti.

Afterwards , leave for Nageshwar Jyotirlinga is one of the important Lord Shiva Temple’s which is enshrined by one of the 12 swayambhu (self-existent) Jyotirlinga in the world, in an underground sanctum. The major attraction of this temple is a 25 m tall statue of sitting Lord Shiva with a huge garden and a pond.

Visit Gopi Talav, famous from age of Lord Krishna. This place was used by Lord Krishna to perform Raas with his Gopis when he shifted to Dwarka.

Proceed to visit Beyt Dwarka, a small island boasting varied opportunities to explore marine excursions or spot some playful dolphins.

Later visit Rukmini Temple located at a distance of 2 kms from Dwarka city. The temple is devoted to goddess Rukmini, wife of Lord Krishna. The temple boasts intricately carved exterior with beautiful sculptures of human figures and elephants. Later in the evening, visit Dwarkadish temple to attend the evening Aarti.

Overnight, stay in Dwarka.

After breakfast, proceed for Somnath. En route to visit Porbandar, birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi. Visit Kirti Mandir, the place from where M. K. Gandhi started his journey of life. Mohan Das Karam Chand Gandhi was born in 3 storey blue haveli which has now been converted into a museum. The museum boasts a huge collection of old photographs and his possessions. There is even a library which has a collection of books either written by him or on his philosophies and practices. Later proceed to Somnath. On the way to Somnath, you can enjoy the ride of being on largest coastal highway of Madhavpur.

En route to visit Veraval to visit Bhalka Tirth,which is famous Lord Krishna temple. The temple is said to be built on the site where Lord Krishna was mistakenly was shot on the foot. The beautiful Tribhangi idol of Lord krishna playing his flute enhances the beauty of temple.

Afterwards, visit Triveni Ghat is located at the confluence of three rivers and Arabian Sea. This is same spot where Lord Krishna was cremated.Then visit the temple which is said to be made by the moon god Soma, in silver by sun god Ravi, in wood by Lord Krishna and in stone by Solanki Rajputs. The Somnath temple has varied tales to tell as enriched glory attracted invaders and was every time restored to its original glory. Strategically located in the peninsula kissed by the Arabian Sea, the temple architecture attracts thousands of tourists every year. In the evening attend the Aarti and light and sound show.

Overnight, stay in Somnath.

After breakfast, proceed for Rajkot. En route to visit Junagadh, soul of Saurastra, is a melting point for history, culture and religion. The city is the perfect amalgamation of old and new with colorful markets and intricate lanes. Arrive and check in the hotel. Then proceed for local sightseeing of the city. Uperkot Fort is located in the center of the city. The fort is famous for its pillars and entrances, horseshoe shaped chatiya windows, and a cell for meditation.

From thereon proceed to visit Ashoka Rock Edict, dates back to 250 BC is a huge stone with carving in Brahmi script in Pali language. The edict moralizes the principles of purity of thoughts and secularism. It is one of the most important parts of Junagadh’s Buddhist Heritage.

Earlier Junagadh museum were the halls were darbars were held by the prince of Junagadh. Later they were converted into the museum. The museum holds a huge collection of paintings, Palanquin room, Textile and Costumes gallery and Arms gallery.

Enroute visit the Car museum in Gondal, the rulers of city of Gondal has prized possessions of varied and finest collections of automobiles which is now part of museum in the palace. Proceed to Rajkot. Arrive and check in the hotel.

Overnight, stay in Rajkot.
