Jordan is home to some of the most well-known historical and natural wonders in the world. The ancient city of Petra, the red sea city of Aqaba, the Dead Sea, the breathtaking desert scenery of Wadi Rum, the Roman ruins of Jerash, the capital city of Amman, Mount Nebo, and the location of Jesus’ baptism at the Jordan River are among the must-see sights.

A well-planned Jordan trip requires at least 5-7 days to explore the key attractions such as Amman, Petra, Wadi Rum, and the Dead Sea. If you want to explore more in-depth, including visits to Jerash, Madaba, and Aqaba, a 7-10 day itinerary is ideal.

The best time to visit Jordan is during spring (March-May) and autumn (September-November), when the weather is mild and pleasant for sightseeing. Summer (June-August) can be extremely hot, especially in the desert areas, while winter (December-February) is cooler and can bring rain, especially in northern regions.

Jordan’s Jordanian Dinar (JOD) is its national currency. US dollars are also widely accepted in tourist areas, but it is advisable to carry some Jordanian Dinars for local purchases and transportation.
